Tom and I loved this interview and getting some updates on your writing, family, health and interests. Today, I'm celebrating the 70th birthday of a colleague for 20 years and my firepit conversations have become the most central and important part of my days and weeks. We are staying out of the snow in Texas these days and Norfolk Terriers still rule our every movement and timing for getting up, sleeping, eating, walking, more walks and did I mention, walking and immersing in nature?

Great interview. I agree with Donna about Hilma Wolitzer; I met her at Bread Loaf, too, in 1977, and throughout her career, she's always seemed up-to-date and of-the-moment. We are lucky to have her. Read her latest book!

Beautiful. I will be 66 tomorrow and I loved reading this interview. So much life to be lived. So grateful for my health and my friends and family. And my family includes my former husband who lives across the Bay with his partner of many years. When our surviving daughter visits we all take long walks together and gather for meals.
