Oh I loved this interview! What a gift to have the confidence to live across the world as a young person. Thanks for sharing.

I’m not sure if it was confidence or just feeling the need to go. Whatever it was, I’m trying to figure it out now!

Susan's happiness is inspiring. May she (and her mom!) keep going for a long time!

Thank you Susan. You're so full of beauty and life. Having a death experience seems to have shaped you in a soulful way. I wish you well on this journey we're all on.

I so enjoyed this read. As a 56 year old woman (now also powered by estrogen, progesterone and barre) I feel strong as well- mentally, emotionally and physically. Cheers to living life to its fullest and finding joy and wonder in the everyday. Thank you for sharing.

I love your burial plans! But I want what remains after medical research to go into the ground near my mom's gravestone. I have no idea if the cemetary permits compostible burials!

Our Jewish Mortuary here in Baltimore, Sol Levinson's, recently sent a newsletter about Jewish Green Burial. So I think it's catching on!

Happy people confuse me. Just kiddin Ms. Weis-Bohlen sounds like she's synchronized her life beautifully.

Oh that’s funny. I’ve had a few folks who thought I was 🤪 goofy, not serious, silly, only to realize that some people are just born this way. Believe me, though, I have my moments. My Substacks have some very unfiltered rants…

Well you seem centered. One can handle a lot like this, and with style : )

Oh, wow...I love this woman. I share exactly her beliefs about the afterlife. I have had experiences that made it clear that there is no such thing as death and what comes after is glorious. Being free from the fear of death is the most liberating and joyful thing that can happen to you. I do expect to reincarnate, however, and I have spent time in recent years contemplating what I would like to do in my next life. It will involved the arts...music, art, acting...we'll see. Though I love life and am enjoying every minute and am in no hurry to leave, I look forward to my transition. I am 75 now so hopefully there will be another 20 years ahead, if I'm lucky.

In my case, as with Susan, life keeps getting better and better. My curiosity has always been enormous and it continues to grow. I'm an avid reader like her Mom and bookstores and libraries are my favorite places. Also have been committed to freedom my whole life, never had children, never wanted to have children and am so happy that I didn't. Did not connect with my life partner until age 69 (though we knew each other and had an affair when I was in my early 40's). Am happier at this stage of life than ever before!

Susan has had a wonderful, adventurous life...look forward to reading her books.

Another great conversation! Susan, your words read like both a coming home and a rallying cry. Life is for living, and you’re clearly doing it right. ✨

No question. Absolutely no question: Sari Botton is onto something by querying oldsters, as she calls us. We ARE stronger and more resilient the older we get. This keeps getting proven over and over and over with testimony after testimony. But it took Sari to ask the question, give voice to it. It can never be repeated often enough.

Sari is truly a gift, isn’t she?
