OMG imagine opening a random Oldsters post (Joseph Bernstein’s Happy Hour in Ann Arbor) and seeing the names and even a face of old friends from 70’s era Ann Arbor-THE place to be at the time! The Blind Pig & Mr Flood’s and the rallies for John Sinclair were regular hangouts; how lovely they can enjoy all the fun of that time with the wisdom ‘a few’ years brings. Gotta be the only rock show that starts at 6- my kinda party! How I wish I’d stayed in Michigan (but the Navy had other plans for me by 1975). Rock on old friends!!! And THANK YOU Mr Bernstein!

These weekly round-ups feel like a satisfying and wide-ranging conversation with that "you've got to see this" friend.

I can't say I enjoy being an older. I'm a bit older than the women who're dealing with menopause. Before I went through it I'd heard "horror" stories but it was like having a periodic bout with flu for me. 🙂

I love reading this page. Although sometimes I think people focus too much on what old age really is. I tend to look at it with the idea that old is always 23 years older than what you are right now. When I was a child, I had a neighbour who was 75. We talked about the Lunar landing in '69, and he told me that when he was a kid, his parents took him into town and they all went in to the new cinema where they watched that clip of the Wright Brothers and their fist flight...and now he was watching them land on the moon. THAT is what age means to me.
