I found the two-bursts-of-aging article fascinating (actually they say there may be additional bursts later, but the study didn't look at people older than 75). I noticed I started losing a lot of friends in my mid-40s, mostly to cancer.

I didn't feel much older at 45 than I did at 30, but in my late 50s I do notice more changes: more fatigue, less physical flexibility.

(Possibly our ave age of 44 is when ish our parents are dying— shit this hurts; and 60’s is when peers begin seriously dying—damn there is no escaping it. Throw in a few of our own close calls: We owe you Death)
