Wonderful account of a challenging life well lived. My dad, who will turn 100 this July, has similar feelings about watching the world repeat all the errors of the past. He fought in a war to end fascism and now we watch it rise again. This is truly crushing for him. And yet, he wakes every day, works in his studio, and enjoys being alive.

I am sitting here reading Tibor's responses to the questions to my partner in tears. His story is just what I needed to hear right now in this very moment. I was feeling hopeless and sad about the current state of our country. After reading Tibor's story I felt almost silly sitting here in my warm home, not hungry with an entitlement of safety. I am inspired reading this interview. Knowing that it is possible and up to us to make our way in this world regardless of experience, present living conditions and political upheaval.

"People with life-threatening traumatic experiences value any time spent in peace and safety as a precious gift. I am immensely grateful for every moment of awareness, physical existence, freedom to be creative, and for having an opportunity to help building a better world than the one I was born into. That is why after waking up in the morning and feeling good, I am grateful to such an extent as if that day represented my real calendar day of birth. In essence, my birthday is every day."

Thank you Mr. Spitz for sharing your life story. I am revitalized to live life in the present moment

and not take anything for granted. I love you.
