I'm not very kind about my first husband, but he did introduce me to the music that's most important to me, including Amy Rigby. We lived "Beer and Kisses," and our little couch potato is 33. Love this interview! Buying memoir now!

This is wonderful - one of the best in a series of insightful responses. I admire Amy Rigby as a songwriter and an author. As I inch toward 60, I find that a lot of the age-related insecurities I had are fading. I’m a little too lost in nostalgia at the moment, but I see it as taking stock of where I’ve been and how I want to spend my remaining days. It’ll pass.

A beautiful interview. Two takeaways (among many more): That a person's 60s are the youth of old age; and that "the world doesn't owe me nothing, but I owe the world a lot." Thank you, Amy and Oldster. ❤️

As a former radio DJ who enjoyed playing Amy’s records (and even interviewing her back in the day!), I really enjoyed this. I’d love to check the memoir.

This was so good!! Really resonated with me in so many ways, as a 44 year old with a lot of uncertainty and gloom at the moment -- I'm delighted that she bounced back after some roughness in middle age, and I believe I will too.

I could not love this more. I'm just about to clamber back into a silver catsuit to play with the band I'm in and this is all the inspiration I need! ❤️

Great interview, thank you, Amy and Oldster magazine! I'm just listening to Wreckless Eric singing Whole Wide World and remembering going to gigs in the '80s!

Great interview. She and Wreckless Eric put on a wonderful show in Ithaca in maybe 2012 or 2013. (Though I'm sure all her/their shows are terrific, that was the only time I saw them in person.)

I got to see them play in their living room in Catskill, and it was amazing.

I caught Amy’s show when she came to my little town, Soldotna, in Alaska @ 2000 during her ‘Cynically Yours’ era (one of my fave songs to this day). A friend, a local musician, arranged to bring performers there and I played a small part: picking up artists from the airport or driving them down from Anchorage and dropping them off at a hotel before and after the show (I had a reliable car). With another friend, we went out for drinks with Amy after her show. The conversation went all over the place: drummers, Alaska winters, life on the road…a fun evening! I’ll be sure to give her new album a listen and find a copy of her memoir.

I LOVE "Cynically Yours"! They play it a lot on a local radio station, and I think it's so funny and smart. I know all the words. Great story. Thanks for sharing.

Great interview and Amy is an inspiration. Wish I'd made it to CBGBs when she played it (I was in NYC then). Also great song.

Amy, you’ve done it all, and in a mere 28 years! I’d call that vastly accomplished. ❤️
