As a 36 year old, this was lovely to read. Anne Bancroft was 36 when she played the “older woman;” this is the age when fear of aging really sets in, at least for me!!

Chloe's comment, "when I'm exhausted and burnt out from socializing or whatever, I feel 60", promotes the stereotype of what it means to age. That from a woman is even more disappointing.

I disagree. At 56 I'm a hell of a lot more tired than I was at 36, and I expect to be even more tired at 76. Still vibrant, still worthy of being taken seriously. Just reality.

I'm not proud of it,, but I stayed up till 6am Monday finishing a story. I thought my all-nighters were over. But today, Wednesday, I'm almost recovered from it. Oh, forgot to add that I'm 66.

If Chloe feels that she is exhausted and burnt out from socializing at 36, that's valid and real. Why add, "I feel 60" since she has no idea what it feels like until she is. Where is she getting her information? Images where advertising has us wrong and fashion doesn't have us at all?

I’m sure she has been around 60 year olds…maybe heard that once or twice :)

Ha. I didn’t subscribe to this to hear from or about people in their 30s! They have enough coverage/attention elsewhere/everywhere

Oldster isn't about old people. It's about getting older, at every phase of life. A lot changes, for women, especially, in our 30s. One minute your "a kid," the next, you are of "an advanced maternal age." See the "About" page for who qualifies as an Oldster (everyone who is alive and aging) and more. https://oldster.substack.com/about
