I’ve been so busy moving into a new place in a new city I didn’t see this wonderful post which includes my interview until just now! Almost 72 this year and inside an 11 year old Tom boy. Thank you Sari for all that you do.
I'm so grateful for the work you do. I get more sustenance and inspiration from Oldster than any other source these days.
When I started reading it, I thought, I've found my people.
I turn 60 this year, and in a culture that values youth, your magazine is a respite that reminds me there are so many vital, creative writers over 50 (as well as engaging younger folks who also experience aging issues. I remember how monumental and strange turning 35 felt.)
Finally, for what's it's worth, I'd pay for an anthology of the Oldster Questionnaire. There are so many beatifully expressed quotes that I've cut and pasted for inspiration.
I love seeing what people have to say. I really don't think of age any more. At 86 I just am. I've had many older friends, whom I've cherished, and many younger ones. To me, it just seems like we're all the same age. It's wonderful!
I’m a newish subscriber and enjoy and appreciate these essays. Still: could you please reach out and question some people who are not almost to a person all authors or artists? (And I love authors and artists.) But how about a truck driver, hair dresser, waiter, minister…. I imagine their insights could liven the mix. And be well enough written to illuminate.
The other day I thought, should just take the oldster questionnaire and journal all my answers to it every year. What a great way that would be to chronicle the remaining years of my life. It might be fun, should I be lucky enough to live to ripe old age, to see what I wrote at 56. I haven’t actually done it yet, but I’m thinking about it at least.
I have loved these interviews - and the wonderful honesty and variety of the human species. As a newcomer I am looking forward to dipping in and out - still commenting - well never tooo late to the party!
With this very simple questionnaire and its varied, colorful and complex responses, you’ve made a remarkable contribution to our understanding of ourselves and each other. It should be required reading for people in their 40’s. For those in their 30’s and below, leave them to their uninformed fun.
Thanks for this fabulous array of interesting people! Love what you do ♥️
Thank you!!!

Yes!
Wait a minute! Oldster magazine isn't about people who drive Oldsmobiles?
Ha! Just kidding!
Thanks Sari for bringing all these folks to us.❤️
😂 Glad you're enjoying these, Jim.
Great point, Jim; it's time for a cars for oldsters questionnaire!
I hear ya! I don't know what is going to happen if the battery in my key fob dies. My talking car will probably say "Ha! You're locked out bitch!"
"The animal of a life"! Thanks for the mention and thanks for exchanging sniffs with me in the garden of forking paths.❤️
Of course! ❤️

Laura, I’m so touched. Thank you. 🙏🏻 You’ll be happy to know my agent and I have been scheming an anthology. Stay tuned. 💕

76 and happy to be. Wrote this poem when my concern was acute and the future was inevitable.
My life, like skating across a frozen sea.
Here the ice is smooth
Here bumpy and difficult to navigate
With time, my skill to remain standing grows,
and I take pleasure in what I can do,
in the hope that this time I get it right
before the ice has melted.

Thanks for sharing that!
Can't believe I missed a couple of these, reading them asap! xx Happy Wednesday!
Enjoy!

Thank YOU, Irwin, and for taking the questionnaire.
