I have a friend who is one of those "on the street poets" - she'll write you a poem on demand (although she's usually at art events now more often than as a street performer) and she always does so on a typewriter. There's also a lovely bookstore in some small California town that I never remember the name of that has a public typewriter where you can write a letter and then they'll mail it for you.

Oh no, Sari. Fuck, fuck, fuck. When my about to turn 80 boyfriend came down with Covid, I proposed planning an eightieth birthday party and invited everyone in the world he had ever known and loved. Then we decided (against my dogged conviction that I wasn't ever getting married again), why don't we have a surprise marriage ceremony in front of all those witnesses. Happiness cured his Covid. Wish I could do that for you.

That age gap article was an INCREDIBLY great read. As someone who reads adult romance and edits it as a side biz (for now. Trying to make it a full-time gig), I tend to stay away from reading/editing books where there's a large age gap between the characters. I'm 7 yrs older than my ex-husband and couldn't imagine being with someone 10, 20, 30 years older than me. It's a personal preference and doesn't appeal to me at all. When I read books like that, the way the female character (usually younger women/older men trope) is written is usually a little immature, flighty, and the dialogue reads as such; she's made to appear innocent, but it comes across as immature to me. And then, of course, during sex you get the whole "Yes, Daddy," and that's where I'm throwing up two fingers, saying "Deuces," and promptly removing the ebook from my Kindle Library. LOL I think exploring this article in more depth on my bizness blog will be interesting, so I'm definitely saving this. Thanks for sharing.

I know you're sad to miss out on a few gatherings. My entire family just went through this, and although most of us tested neg after a week, my son continues to test positive after three weeks. The CDC has guidance on what to do if you test positive after 10 days -- in my son's case, he went back to work and life. I hope you can soon, too!
