These are the stories that keep me coming back to Oldster! Thank you, Annie! Thank you, Sari. Annie, I wish I had a place I could book you…some other place like the freezing front porch….a waxing salon? A Waffle House? Any impediments and you’d slay them! Benni is right! xx

"I kept getting nowhere until one day I woke up and I was somewhere." --- this line got me good! Thank you so much for sharing your story with us Annie. I cried, laughed, smiled.... and most of all, I was filled with hope and excitement for the next 45+ years of my life. Lots of love to you from Australia. x

Phenomenal, and since I do not believe in accidents, your piece appeared on my screen in a most timely manner. I have retreated from submitting any of my writing. Anywhere! Sure I've got a thousand reasons/ excuses, we all do, I am completely transparent about the fact that I hate splitting maytime between writing and submitting . At seventy four, I make ends meet with odd jobs and such, so when I get the me time, I want it to be just me.Sure I have a few followers on Substack, and for now that seems enough. I was told I should send something into the Moth, again, excuses. You are one impressive woman, thank you for leaving one more stepping stone of inspiration on my path.

This is so lovely and inspiring. I read it this morning and then read it out loud to my wife. Something about reading it out loud and sharing it with my wife made it very emotional and we were both crying by the end. We'll look forward to a chance to see you if you ever speak in the Northeast. Thank you!

Fantastic! Wonderful and encouraging! Just what I needed to read this morning as I contemplate the next chapter in my novel/memoir or whatever it's going to be. Thank you for never giving up, Annie!

You’ve inspired me to not give up on a career goal that I’ve been chipping away at for years and on my writing goals. (And I’m only in my late thirties and felt like it was too late…) thank you for showing us it isnt, and that success is the little steps along the way.

What a vitality! Amazing story! What we need to hear in our old age. I love the humor, the irony of narrating. Annie, it's great that you believed in your talent and could find the necessary moment for its display. And your husband is remarkable for his constant support. Thank you, Annie for your story. Thank you, Sari.

Love this story! Especially the idea of how "failure" helps you hone your craft. I really thought I'd have my life as a writer neatly tied up by 40, book published, etc. That wasn't the case, life had other plans (as it always does) vis a vis cancer, the death of my husband and my mother. But, I'm still writing, still finishing a novel, still discovering ways to begin again and again. Annie is an inspiration that there is no age limit to talent. Thank you for sharing such an honest and funny take on life as a creative person.

Thank you for the inspiration! As a late-in-life writer, I love seeing someone else who's fulfilled their dreams in their third stage of life.

Thank you Ms. Korzen. You are so admired! And so much for being done when you are in your 80s. You are just getting started, again!
