An occasional Oldster Bookshelf will be a wonderful surprise gift whenever it may happen, Sari. Congratulations to all of the writers of the books highlighted. My reading list grows again. Thanks so much , Sari, you are appreciated.
I got into this on the “free” version but after perusing your site, I’m urgently heading back for a paid subscription. What an incredible service/community you’ve created! I’m thrilled to be a part of it. I hope you are met with all the appreciation and patience you deserve in this labor of love.
We haven't met in person or online, but I have known about your Substack for some years. Perhaps you have also heard of mine. I hate to start on a negative note, but I have tried four times to open the gmail link and it keeps telling me it is in error.
What a great list. Letters from Brazil looks interesting especially because I’m writing an epistolary historical fiction novel and I loved the Correspondent.
This is so wonderful! What a great list! May I suggest that rather than link to Amazon (a horror) you link to bookshop a non-profit online bookstore which supports independent bookstores. https://bookshop.org/
I agree about Amazon, but I'm going with the authors' preferred links. Amazon is necessary, unfortunately, for lots of self-published and indie books to thrive.
Got it. Didn’t know that - have always found what I needed in bookshop but really don’t know this industry even though I read a lot! An obvious and great book about aging is Correspondent - have you interviewed her? Anyway - so enjoying your substack - thank you! Btw - my best friend just moved to Kingston and I wondered if you ever hire anyone or interns? She’s an artist in her early 60s and could use some company TBH. 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
Also, many of my readers only read on Kindle, and while Bookshop (run by friends of mine!) now has ebooks, they don't always easily work on Kindle. And some only listen to audio books, which I think you can't get on Bookshop. Thank you! I don't hire anyone. But nice to hear about your friend in my area!
Fixed the error in the first listing. 🤦🏻♀️

Thank you, Mary!
What a super list! Thanks for this. I found several books of interest to me.
That's great to hear!
Thank you so much for this. What a rich compendium of books. I'm saving this edition of Oldster. I'm thrilled you've gotten so many submissions.
Just discovered some great new reads!

Aww, thank you, Angelica! I appreciate your support.

I fixed it, but you can also just copy and paste it, or just type it in. oldsterbookshelf@gmail.com
Thanks, yes it now works. What a bore for you.

Wonderful.
The Correspondent was a pleasure to read and I’m thrilled to have more “epistolary” company! Keep us posted.
I love this! So many new holds on my Libby app. Thank you!
Thanks so much for including my book, The Gray New Deal. Congratulations to the other writers, and I look forward to exploring the bookshelf.
