From a high-risk pregnancy at 32 to menopause at 48, Aileen Weintraub has learned she mustn't shut up about her reproductive health until the medical establishment prioritizes women.
Im here because of the gripping headline and would love to connect, and know I just tried to read this but it was triggering. I’m in the exact boat and thought I had celebrated/recognized my trauma being healed but here we are…unable to read about someone in my womenshealth community. Thank you for giving a voice to people like us. I will be back 😘 Twitter @O_brother
Thank you for writing this. Really - THANK YOU. I’m currently reading Melissa Febos’ new book - Body Work and Cassandra Speaks by Elizabeth Lesser and through my own fog of perimenopause - I feel a clear, hot rage. We need to tell our stories.
Thank you. It’s amazing how little is out there about menopause and that it’s only recently become “acceptable” to talk and write about it. This is so incredibly spot on.
One hour! I shouldn't be shocked, but I am. Most of the doctors I've been to are so clueless about anything having to do with menopause. The best source of information I've found is other women. So, yes, keep talking about your uterus!
I am with you, sister. We can’t talk enough about this. Being thrown into menopause upon receiving chemotherapy, no one told me what to expect. I write on the topic as well and find myself getting worked up just making this comment!
I hear you, and feel more heard by you writing about your experiences. Thank you.
Thank you! I’m so glad you feel heard. I think we need to keep talking about our experiences
I recommend Heather Corinna’s book on perimenopause and menopause unreservedly! https://www.hachettego.com/titles/heather-corinna/what-fresh-hell-is-this/9780306874758/
You are the third person to recommend this to me. Ordering now!
you will love it!
Fourth person. It's the best ever. Her small aside on lube as a Prince guitar solo is worth 3x the price of the book.

Yes absolutely! I can so relate to that clear hot rage

We have such a long way to go

Yes! Same
Feeling so SEEN by this story. Thank you for writing!
Menopause Manifesto by Jennifer Gunter is another fantastic resource. She's an Ob/Gyn with a great social media presence, feminist, and funny as hell.
