I relate to a lot of what Danielle says, my grandfather was not at all open minded like hers though (I tended to have hippie ideals and he did not). he died in the early 70's. It is challenging to communicate with people who do not share your point of view. And am finding it ironic that I tend to agree to disagree with people. At the same time, as a lifelong Democrat/liberal from NYC trying to communicate with Democrats these days for me is like it was trying to communicate with Trump supporters in 2016-2020. Name calling, insults, and calling me a Trump supporter is funny/not funny to me. All you have to do is read my articles last year. I have been rabidly anti-Trump. And I am pro choice not just for women but for ALL people aka medical freedom for everybody. the great divide exists to divide and conquer all of us.
