"If it wanted doing, my body could do it." Yes! I am almost your age, and I love your list of all those ways our younger, reliable bodies served us so well. We're lucky that one of the things you STILL can do is write.
It’s not just me losing faith in my body’s ability to perform daily tasks, but my husband also. We toddle around the house trying to do what seemed so easy not that long ago. Our relationship has turned to hoping the other is nearer the door when the dog wants out, racing for the closest toilet, and holding hands in bed where wild love making once took place.
Outings consist of medical appointments and seeing whose medications make them less fuzzy so they can drive. Learning how to Netflix, prime, and fire tv was a necessity even though we have to juggle three remotes. Having the kids lecture us on topics we once were ignored by them once upon a time. Getting old sucks!
Yes, I am very grateful for that. When I have a pity party I have to be more grateful for the doughnut even though the coffee has all spilled on the floor! ;)

Thanks, that's very nice of you to say.
So beautiful!
Thank you.
