I was interested in Reviving Ophelia at a young age - drawn to it maybe before my time. Recently, at 50, I found Women Rowing North and was so surprised to put the proverbial two and two together. Felt that same surprise today upon finding her here. Thank you ~~~
I read Mary’s NY Times Opinion piece, The Joy of Being a Woman in Her 70s, when I was but a mere 66 and loved it from afar. Now that I’ve arrived I love it even more. Thank you, Mary.
Wow! I loved this. My key takeaway: "I’ve lived in the same community for 50 years and I know many people." Community seems key, and many of us who don't have it, miss it.
PS. Reviving Ophelia was hugely important to my mother, who was a counselor at Planned Parenthood in the 80s and 90s. She turned me on to it, and then my women's book club read it, too. I think we all were impacted by this book, so thank you, years later!
Mary Pipher's "Writing to Change the World" is on my list of five most influential books on my road to becoming a writer. Thank you for the opportunity to read about her, watch her thrive and grieve (not exclusive of each other, which we learn in our seventies), and I'm excited that she has a new book coming out.
This was a rich read and I'm grateful for getting to know a growth-oriented therapist / author that I have looked up to for many years. I'm looking forward to reading her thoughts on Impermanence.
So enjoyed reading this Mary, we share many views and as I grow older I am trying to make "me" time, nothing better than reading a good book or sharing a meal with family & friends.

Such a lovely, clear-eyed account of what it is to be an older woman today. Thank you.
Wonderful read; Mary's frame of mind is one to aspire to.

Mary Pipher is living exactly as I want to live. I have loved her books and her willingness to grow in public and share what she has found.
Simply Beautiful! I would love to be friends with Mary. We share a world view that is more tender and deeper than in our earlier years. Thank you!

I’ve been fortunate to have worked on Mary’s books. Her writing is always a treat. Thanks for this.
