Watch now (28 mins) | The author of 17 books—including her recent memoir, First Born Girls—answers my questions over video and text. "I used to be a huge people pleaser—but not anymore, and I love that for myself!"
Welcome to the 60's Bernice! I like angelcestor; we are not only physical but also spiritual beings. Would like to do some ancestry work; I connect with those who came before me every morning in meditation. Enjoy the new decade! I am nearing the end of it (one year to go) and found it to be a time of coming full circle, harvesting what I have sown lifelong.
Sari and Bernice, thank you for this wonderful gift of this interview. I enjoyed it immensely. Happy Belated Birthday to you, Bernice. Happy Birthday ( a tad early ) to you, Sari. Enjoy the sixties. ❤️
Nice! I relate to the ancestral piece. In middle age I've delved into ancestral healing woo-woo work (far more intense than I expected) and it ended up leading to actual DNA tests and genealogy research. I will be heading off on an ancestral and sacred sites journey within the next few years, thanks to donors who support my writing, Tarot, astrology, and content work.
There is really something *to* all this ancestry; I feel like on the blue-progressive side of things, attention to lineage is often seen as racist and classist. Maybe true, maybe not.
If your family going back in time was not of the nobility, bought and sold in chattel slavery, or in possession of an unusually long and accurate family Bible family tree, it is unlikely you even have access to the information stretching back; that has been an interesting and difficult thing for me to grasp.
I'm hoping for a well-timed aneurysm-- and I'm also hoping I can watch over and help my kids when I'm on the other side.

I'm a firstborn girl and libra too!

One of my favorite authors
Thank you
Loved you clarity of purpose but you’re also tease. How on earth do you trademark
a word? And not give us a definition? Or not tell us which Aretha song?
Sorry about the falling out with your daughter but don’t need to know what that’s about.
Or maybe your next book?
On ending, the phrase that comes to mind, is you’re a “piece of work” in the best possible sense.
Congratulations Sari on your guest and on your survival journey
Thanks, Rhea!
