My goodness. The timing of this...I was just sitting here with my coffee, thinking of how wisdom comes in the most unexpected places, and that we must stay curious. This is an example. So many nuggets here. Thank you for sharing.

A memoir worth checking out is Uncorked: A Memoir of Letting Go and Starting Over.

Don't be fooled into thinking this funny, open-hearted, soulful howl of a book is only for those on a sober journey -- this is a universal grab-you-by-the-collar-and-hold-you-wide-eyed-close kind of memoir that can inspire all of us.

Inspiring. Nothing in life is a straight line. Lost and found is what we are.I’ll toke to that!

Thanks for being so transparent about *waves hands* all of it. Confessing the mess of being a drunk, admitting to the personal disappointment(s), and rejoicing in the simple/difficult daily walk of sobriety is one of the blessings of my life and I can tell that’s true of you as well. ODAT🌿

Thanks for sharing your ongoing sobriety story, Neda, and for not making the journey sound easy.

I've admired Neda's work on NPR for ages, and it adds enormously to my appreciation of her to know what she has grappled with all these years. Straightforward, revealing, and wise!

i'm just here as a born-and-raised ohioan with 13 years in akron to express excitement that my hometown came up, lol (i always appreciate it most when i'm not there, as is often the case with expat ohioans)

Thank you Neda for this beautiful and courageous sharing of your story. You located the strength existing within you to help yourself. That was very significant. And then you started using it to actually help yourself and others, which was every bit as important. I’m grateful for having stumbled upon this interview today.

thanks, Paul! I have always and continue to look up to you!

Wow, I could relate to so so much of this story. And I teared up at your story of crying at the Akron house. Thank you for sharing.
